Pierouettes
We got up early to catch morning light and glass from an elevated perspective provided by the St. Augustine Pier. Chris tested out his new log from Scott Anderson, Nick’s board ran into a piling, Jacob surfed in his skivvies, fun was had by all.
The voice of the sea speaks to the soul.
These are additional photos from way back when. Shootin’ the moon.
This one is a sunrise from when I lived in Lincolnville. I got up early and went to the intracoastal to watch the sun rise. Now I live on the other shore and watch sunsets.

Moonburn
A few years ago, I had a dream that I was a journalist and was sent to interview a woman who was a witch. She worshiped the moon. We got into a weird discussion. I told her that the moon’s light was not its own, that it was only reflecting the light from the sun. There’s plenty of symbolism and meaning that could be interpreted from this but the true lesson is my dream self is kind of a jerk.
In the past year I’ve been especially drawn to photographing subjects lit primarily by moonlight. The resulting images almost look like daytime but there is a quality to them that I don’t think would happen in any other light.
